A.C. Greyhound The Greyhound was a replacement for the AC 2-litre which ceased production in 1958. Although benefitting from the engineering of the Ace and Aceca, the Greyhound was a new design. Its chassis was built of square tubes, and it had wishbone suspension and coil springs. The bodty was all new and designed by Alan turner and presented to a less than enthusiastic press at the 1959 London Motor Show. Most Greyhounds were given the 2-litre Bristol engine, or a Bristol 2.2-litre unit. A few had the Ruddspeed 2.6-litre engine, and a small number were given an updated AC 2-litre engine. Only 84 Greyhounds were sold when in 1963 production was given over to the AC Cobra. |
