Austin Westminster A99, A110
In 1959 the third series of the 'Austin Farinas' was launched with the Austin A99 Westminster in 1959. Like its Cambridge cousins, it too used a mechanical specification mostly lifted from the outgoing A95/A105 Westminster. Like its smaller sibling, it also used a new bodyshell designed by Pinin Farina. The A99 Westminster had a 6-cylinder engine enlarged to 2912cc and given in tuned form to the new Austin-Healey 3000. The Wolseley 6/99 was also launched and apart from Wolseley branding was otherwise the same as the A99. In 1961 the Westminster was uprated to the A110 with a changed wheelbase and rear suspension, and a 120bhp engine (ADO53). In 1964 the A110 MkII was announced, gaining a new gearbox and suspension tweaks with smaller 13inch wheels. The Austin 3-litre (ADO61) took over from the A110 in 1968.
