Vanden-Plas Princess 1100 and 1300
Leonard Lord had 'experimented' with making a luxury car out of his standard production models with the launch of the Austin A105 Vanden Plas in 1958, and repeated this idea again in 1963. Fred Connolly of Connolly Leather commissioned a leather-trimed Morris 1100, and Kingsbury were asked to go further and create a Vanden Plas 1100 for the 1963 London Motor Show. The car generated many orders and was put into production, being upgraded to 1300 along with the rest of the ADO16 models. Vanden Plas 1500 and 1750 versions of the Austin Allegro replaced the 1100/1300 models

Vanden-Plas Princess 1300. Fred Connolly (of Connolly Leather) commissioned a leather-trimmed luxury version of the Morris 1100, and BMC developed this into a Vanden-Plas 1300 exhibition car at the 1963 Motor Show. So many orders flooded in that the car was launched as a production model.

Vanden-Plas Princess 1100. Fred Connolly commissioned BMC to built him a luxury Morris 1100 to show off his leather business. When this car was exhibited people asked if they could have one, and the VDP 1100 was sold from 1964.
