MG Magnette MkIII, MkIV
In 1959 the third member of the 'Austin Farina' dynasty was launched as the MG Magnette MkIII to replace Gerald Palmer's stylish ZB. Although the BMC B-series was given twin carbs for the Magnette, in design and engineering the MkIII was a BMC car rather than an MG. After 16,000 cars were sold, the MkIII gave way to the MkIV (ADO 38) in 1961, gaining a 1622cc engine and suspension improvements.
