Alvis Silver Eagle and Crested Eagle
In 1927 Alvis created an 1870cc 6-cylinder engine that was slotted into the 12/50 chassis to create the TA 14.75. This was further developed into a 2148cc engine for 1929 and renamed the 'Silver Eagle'. There was an optional 2511cc 20hp car from 1930 but not many were sold. Silver Eagles ceased production in 1933 although the name was revived in 1935 for a 6-cylinder 2362cc version of the Firebird. The Crested Eagle was a less sporting version of the Silver Eagle, Speed 20 and Speed 25 sold from 1933 to 1939 with 6-cylinder engines from 2148cc to 3571cc.
