Alvis 3½litre, 4.3litre
Alvis introduced a new 3571cc engine with the new SA 25.63 model known as the 3½litre in 1935. A longer Speed 20 chassis was given to the car, and almost every one of the 60 cars sold had individual bodywork. There was a shorter version offered to Speed 20 specification and known as the 'Speed 25' for 1936. In 1937 the Speed 25 engine was bored out to 4387cc for the new 4.3litre Alvis. These larger-engined Alvis had no place in the postwar market, and Alvis were further handicapped by the bombing of their factory.
