Alvis 4.3-litre SA, SB, and SC 31.48
In 1937 Alvis launched the 4.3-litre, and this could be ordered with the 10 ft. 7 in. chassis of the Alvis 3.5-litre, or the 10 ft. 4 in. chassis of the Speed 25. The 6-cylinder engine was enlarged to 4387cc and produced 137 bhp for the SA, SB, and SC 31.48. A variety of coachwork was fitted, but there wasn't a standards Alvis body for this car. Alvis continued production of the 4.3-litre into 1940, when most car makers had already gone over to wartime manufacture. At the end of the war the 4.3-litre did not go back into production and just 270 were made.
