Aston Martin DB6
A 'Kamm Tail' on a DB5 creates the Tourer DB6. Aston Martin rejected the design by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan and developed the long-tailed DB6 from their own racing project. Launched in 1965, the DB6 was roomier and the Kamm tail cured some aerodynamic flaws in the later DB5s. A small number of Volante convertibles were built on the DB6 chassis. In 1969 Aston Martin announced the DB6 Mk2 which used some chassis components from the new DBS and has flared wheel arches to accomodate the wider track. Production of the DB6 ended in 1970.

Aston Martin DB6. -Superleggera- means Super lightweight and refers to the body construction of aliuminium panels over small bore tubes. In fact the DB6 was not truly a Superleggera construction and the badges were soon deleted.

Aston Martin DB6 MkII. The MkII DB6 was launched after the new DBS had been launched and shared some of its mechanics. Flared arches are evidence that the MkII used the wider wheels and tyres of the DBS.
