Aston Martin DBS and DBS V8
William Towns Wedge body was unveiled as the Aston Martin DBS at Blenheim palace in September 1967. Mechanically the DBS shared much of the DB6 (which continued in production), and had a 282bhp 3995cc 6-cylinder dohc engine. Aston Martin intended the DBS to carry the new V8 engine but this wasn't ready and the car was launched with the DB6 engine. Production continued until 1972 and 787 were produced, the DBS V8 was produced alongside the DBS until 1972. Tadek Marek's V8 engine was 5340cc and had Bosch fuel injection. Available from 1970 the DBS V8 shared the DBS bodyshell but with a larger airdam and alloy wheels. In 1972 the DBS model was dropped and the ' Aston Martin V8 ' offered instead.
