Bedford CA Van.
Launched in 1952, the CA set new standards for a light van. It was powered by the Vauxhall Wyvern 4-cylinder 1508cc engine or a Perkins diesel unit. Its semi forward control design is attributed to David Jones. The CA was available in two lengths and rated at 10 cwt, 12 cwt or 15cwt, and chassis-cab versions were offered for coachbuilt bodies. The CA was given a one-piece windscreen from 1958, and in 1964 the CA MkII was given a deep windscreen and deeper door windows as well as the 1594cc ohv engine from the Vauxhall Victor. In 1969 the CA Van was replaced by the all new Bedford CF.
