Bristol Fighter
Bristol went back to Chrysler for the engine of its fastest car and chose the V10 engine from the Dodge Viper to put under the bonnet of the Bristol Fighter in 2004. Bristol took the 7,996cc V10 engine and tuned it up to 525bhp, or 628bhp for the Fighter S. Max Boxstrom designed the aerodynamic (0.28cd) gullwing coupe body which even when mounted on a sturdy box section steel chassis was still considerably lighter than its competitors. As well as the S model, there was also a faster Turbocharged Viper T model with 1,012bhp. All the Fighters were capable of more than 200mph, but were limited above that speed. Although the Fighter had been reported in 2000, it was first seen at Goodwood in 2003 and went on sale in 2004. Production was around 13 examples and ended in 2011 on the demise of Bristol.
