In 1957 The GM C-body cars were given a new body on a 127.5-inch wheelbase shared with the Buick Roadmaster, Oldsmobile 98 and the Cadillac Series 62. Some of the 1957 cars had a 3-piece rear window, but the hardtops had a one-piece rear window. Styling is now attributed to Bill Mitchell, with Ned Nickles revising it for 1958. In 1957 a new 'Roadmaster 75' was announced with every conceivable extra added excluding air conditioning (which could be specified as an option), taking the car to a price close to the Cadillac Series 62 which shared its body and was less well equipped. The Roadmaster 75 was replaced by the Buick Limited in 1958. The 'Roadmaster' name gave way to the name 'Electra' in 1959
