Cadillac produced new 130-inch GM C-body designs for the 1971 Cadillacs. For 1972 there was a modest restyle, but for 1973 there was the need to incorporate energy absorbing bumpers. Engines offered were the 7729cc (472) 3785 bhp V8 and from 1975 the 8,194cc (500) 210 bhp V8 replaced the 472 to comply with Federal emissions regulations. A new model was brought out in 1977, but the Calais name was then dropped and only the 'deVille' name was used. The 1977 Cadillacs also shrunk to 121.5-inch wheelbase.
Cadillac Coupe deVille 1976 d'Elegance. Power came from a 8,194cc (500) 190 bhp V8. This engine would be replaced in 1977 with a smaller 7-litre (425) unit and reduced to 6-litres (368), and even a V6 option as Federal emissions regulations hit. in 1980
Cadillac Coupe deVille 1974 d'Elegance. Built on a 130-inch wheelbase and measuring 230-inch long. The Cabriolet roof with chrome saddle moulding was a feature of the d'Elegance option, as was the see through hood ornament.
Cadillac Eldorado 1971 Convertible. In 1967 an all new Eldorado was launched sharing its E-body with the Buick Riviera. It also became the first front wheel drive Cadillac as the Unified Powerplant Package from the front wheel drive Oldsmobile Toronado was adapted for the Cadillac V8 and by 1971 this was an 8-litre V8.
Cadillac Fleetwood 1971 Seventy-Five. Cadillac offered the Fleetwood 75 on a 151.5-inch wheelbase and 243-inch overall length. A 7.7-litre V8 engine powered the Cadillac, but an 8.2-litre engine was optional.
Cadillac Fleetwood 1971 Seventy-Five. Cadillac offered the Fleetwood for 1971 as the Sixty Special on a 133-inch wheelbase, and a 229-inch overall length. It was also offered as this Fleetwood 75 on a 151.5-inch wheelbase and 243-inch overall length. The 75 was also available as an even longer chassis for use as Ambulances and Hearses.
Cadillac Fleetwood 1974 Miller-Meteor Hearse, powered by 7,729cc (472) V8. Cadillac sold commercial car chassis for the building of hearses and ambulances. Miller-Meteor of Ohio was a popular coachbuilder for specialised vehicles. This is the 'Citation' model.
Cadillac Fleetwood 1977 75 Limousine. The Fleetwood 75 Limousine was all new for 1977 and had shrunk down to a 144.5-inch wheelbase (down 7-inches) and overall to 244-inch from 252-inches. Engine size was down to 6,966cc (425) and power just 180 bhp.
