Jerome I. Case started up the Racine Threshing Machine Works in 1842, and in 1869 produced the first steam tractor which only used the engine stationery once at the farm and had to be pulled by horses. Case launched their first Tractor, the Titan, in 1910 and in 1929 introduced its first crawler tractor. Case was bought out in 1964 and then sold to Tenneco, and they bought out British David Brown tractors in 1972, and then Tenneco bought International Harvester in 1984.
Case Model C 1936. Produced from 1929 to 1940 the C-Series was powered by a 4.3-litre (260) gasoline engine. The derivative Model Model CC was a row crop model, the Model CI an Industrial model, and the CO for Orchards.
Case Model D, produced from 1939 to 1953, powered by a 4.3-litre (260) 4-cylinder gasoline or LPG engine
Case Model L 1930. Powered by 6,287cc (403) petrol engine, the Model L sold from 1929 to 1940. Case Tractors were painted in grey until 1939 when the colour was changed to flambeau red.
David Brown 996. Produced from 1971 to 1980 at Huddersfield, and powered by a 3,592cc diesel engine.
David Brown 885 1974. Produced at Meltham from 1971 to 1980, from 1973 these were sold as 'Case 885' after Tenneco bought out David Brown Tractors and merged them with their own J.I. Case. Powered by a 4-cylinder engine.
