All new 1959 Bel Airs were given the new GM 1959 look with horizontal fins. The entry level Chevrolet was now the Biscayne as the Delray was dropped. The BelAir model filled the mid-range and the Impala topped off the 1959 Chevrolets. Biscayne and BelAir models were built on a 119-inch chassis. More than 30 per cent of 1959 Chevrolets were fitted with six-cylinder engines, but V8s were also offered including a 315 bhp fuel-injected model. A restyle was given to all Chevrolets for 1960, with lines being tamed whilst mechanical specification remained as before. Impalas sold 5 cars, to 2.9 Biscaynes and 3.8 Bel Airs. A new chassis and a new body were launched for 1961
