The fifth generation Impala was launched with a new GM B-body in 1971; the largest Chevrolet body ever offered. Two different 2-door hardtops were offered as well as a convertible, 4-door hardtop and sedan and a station wagon. Styling changed to incorporate more and more crash protection to satisfy changing federal regulations. Engines changed with lowering power outputs to comply with federal emmissions regulations

Chevrolet Impala 1975 4-door sedan. 1975 Impalas carried the front end of the 1974 higher price Caprice. Behind the grille was a 5.7-litre (350) V8 but other options were available.
