Chrysler had introduced the Valiant into the Australian market in 1962 with a model built in Adelaide from completely knocked down (CKD) kits made in Canada. The Valiant VH was the ninth Valiant produced in Australia from 1971 to 1973, and the first fully Australian product. It was offered in sedan on a 111-inch wheelbase or as a Charger coupe on 105-inch wheelbase. Body styles included 4-door sedan, 2-door hardtop, 5-door estate and a coupe utility. There were three choices of inline six as well as a 318 and a 340 V8 engine.
