Citroën 11BL 1949 "Traction Avant". Lower, lighter and therefore faster than contemporaries, it was launched in 7CV versions in 1934 and 11CV versions later that year.

Citroën 11BL 1949. Engineered by André Lefèbvre and designed by Flaminio Bertoni. the Traction Avant introduced monocoque construction, torsion bar suspension, and front wheel drive to mass production. The development programme backrupted Citroen and forced it into takeover by Michelin.

Citroën Big Six. The 6-cylinder Traction Avants had a longer bonnet to accomodate the 15CV 2,866cc engine. They usually had the long wheelbase cabin, shown by the thicker C-pillar.
