Mulliners Coachbuilders
Mulliner established a business making Mail Coaches at Northampton in 1760, continued by his son Francis Mulliner. The sons of Francis Mulliner expanded the business, with Henry Mulliner moving to Leamington Spa and then Birmingham to form Mulliners Ltd. This branch of Mulliners wasbought out by Standard-Triumph in 1958 and closed in 1960. Son Francis Mulliner establshed a business in Liverpool, and his brother Robert Mulliner also founded a business in Liverpool. Francis and Robert Mulliner merged their Liverpool businesses in 1870 and Robert moved to chiswick. Robert's son Henry Jervis Mulliner established HJ Mulliners in London, which was bought out by Rolls-Royce in 1959. Henry Mulliner's son Arthur Mulliner continued the business at Northampton which was bought out by Henlys in 1940.
