H J Mulliner Coachwork on Rolls-Royce The Mulliner family had been building coaches since about 1859, but it was Henry Jervis Mulliner who founded the HJ Mulliner company in London in 1900. He quickly got the Royal approval and also built many Daimlers for nobility. Even though HJ sold the company in 1907, HJ Mulliners continued and CS Rolls favoured their work so that by the 1930s most Mulliner bodies went on Rolls-Royce or Bentley chassis. From 1957 Mulliners designed and built the Alvis TD21-TF21 cars. Rolls-Royce bought out Mulliners in 1959 and formed Mulliner Park Ward in 1961 |
