Commer Vans
Commer became the commercial vehicle arm of the Rootes Group from 1935, most products often being based on the mechanics of Humbers or the lighter Hillmans. Some of the Commer products were simply van-bodied cars, but after WWII a forward control van was launched based on Hillman Minx components, in much the same way that Bedford had the CA Van, Austin the 152 Van, and Ford the 400E Van. Van-based versions of the cars ceased in 1970, and under Chrysler the commercial vehicles became branded as 'Dodge' until Renault took over.
