Commer Express Van 1948-56 For 1948 the Rootes Group called on the services of Raymond Loewy Studios to give the Hillman Minx a new '3-box body'. There were 3 body types, the 4-door saloon, 2-door convertible and a van-like estate car which was also sold without windows as the Commer Express Van. There was also a new Commer Cob Van based on the new short wheelbase Hillman Husky. In 1958 a Commer Cob van was produced based on the brand new 'Audax'-based Hillman Husky hatchback, and this replaced the Express Van. |
