Daimler DB18 and Consort
The Daimler DB18 really started life as a 15hp 1803cc car in 1932, the Daimler 'Light Fifteen'. The model was economic and very popular and gradually evolved until in 1938 it was 18hp and now had a 2522cc. The DB18 took this recipe further and was in production into the 1950s. In 1939 a standard saloon body was offered on the '2½litre' model and after WW2 this was revised and launched as the 'Daimler Consort'. The Consort chassis was also sold with other coachwork, such as the Barker Special Sports, and was usually known then as the DB18 or 2½litre. Two models replaced the Consort, the Conquest and the pricier Regency.
