Daimler DE27 and DE36
The Daimler DE27 was the 6-cylinder sibling to the DE36 Eight, using a shortened version of the DE36 chassis it was in production from 1946 to 1951. The six cylinder 4,095cc engine had been created for a Daimler Armoured Car, although it was a development of the earlier Daimler 4,624cc 8-cylinder engine from 1932. It shared its bore and stroke with the postwar 8-cylinder DE36. THe DE27 had a standard wheelbase of 138 inches, and a 150 inch chassis was used for the DC27 Ambulance (500 built), and for the DH27 Limousine (50 built).
