Trevor Fiore English born Trevor Frost went to Italy to work under the name Trevor Fiore for Carrozzeria Fissore. His early work was on the De Tomaso Vallelunga and then the Elva GT160. Fiore is best known for the 1965 Geneva Salon TVR Trident which came from a meeting in a pub with TVR owners in 1963. The design was a wow, but TVR were bankrupt and the car was separately produced in low numbers by a new company called Trident. The TVR Tina was also designed by Fiore but also doomed by the debts of TVR. Following on from the TVR trident, Fiore was asked to design a new fibreglass coupe for Bond Cars using Triumph Vitesse compenents. Launched as the Bond Equipe 2-litre the design was finalised by Bond's own Alan Pounder. Whilst the world had stood and gawped at the TVR Trident, they did this again when presented with the Monteverdi HAI 450 SS Prototype at the 1970 Geneva Auto Salon. Sadly that car was also not destined to go into series production. However, the design was not entirely lost as elements of it can be found in the Renault Alpine A310 that was exhibited at the 1971 Geneva Salon and which did become a production car. From 1980 to 1982 Trevor Fiore headed Citroen design, producing the Karin and Xenia concepts. |
