Lawrence 'Lawrie' Bond Lawrence 'Lawrie' Bond helped in the design of Blackburn aircraft and in the late 1940s designed a lightweight 3-wheeler with expertise from his homemade racing cars. This design became the Bond Minicar which was bought and put into production by Sharps Commercials (later 'Bond Cars'). After this Lawrie Bond came up with another lightweight 3-wheeler design which went into production as the Berkeley. Lawrie bond helped in the design of two more Bond cars, the first being the Bond Equipe GT of 1963 which was Bond's first 4-wheel car, the second was another 3-wheeler, the Bond 875 of 1965. Lawrie Bond retired to North Yorkshire and died in 1974. |
