Carozzeria Pininfarina
Giovanni Battista "Pinin" Farina had started at his brother's bodyshop in Turin in the early years of the twentieth century where he learned car design and construction. In 1930 he formed Carrozzeria Pininfarina and many clients chose his work in preference to other more established coachbuilders. In the 1950s Pininfarina coachwork was a preference on Ferraris and other Italian cars. However, Pininfarina bodies found their way onto other much less exalted cars, such as the infamous 'Farina Austins' (The Austin A40, Austin Cambridge and Austin Westminster, along with their badge-engineered siblings). Peugeot also adopted Pininfarina for the Peugeot 404 and even the 205. Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Volvo, MG, Cadillac, Rolls-Royce, and Jaguar have worn designs by Pininfarina.
