For the 1953 new body, the Coronet was demoted to below the new 'Royal' line but still above the Meadowbrook. A 3,772cc (230) flathead six could be replaced by a 3,954cc (241) Red Ram V8 engine. Bodies offered included a 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, and a 2-door station wagon. The 4-door cars and the 2-door Club Coupe were on a 119-inch wheelbase, whilst the 2-door cars were on 114-inches.
