A new Virgil Exner body was given to the fourth generation Coronet for 1957, 1958 and 1959 on a 122-inch wheelbase. That body got longer and wider each year. For 1958 and 1958 the Coronet sat on a Desoto Fireflite chassis. The 'Coronet' badge was not used from 1960 to 1965.

Virgil Exner gave Chrysler cars a new winged body for 1957, and the Windsor was given a cheaper 'single cam' 5787cc version of the Hemi V8.
