The Dodge WC was a half-ton truck built from 1942 to 1946 for the American Army during World War Two. Dodge introduced a new range of Trucks, the TC range, in 1939 with fresh modern styling. The Dodge TC was built on a 116-inch wheelbase with a six cylinder engine. The Dodge TC was a half-ton truck, and there was also a Dodge TD one-ton truck built on a 133-inch wheelbase. A new grille was added for 1940 and only slightly altered for 1941, and this design was retained until the end of Dodge WC production in 1948. In 1939 Dodge started producing the Dodge VC which was a 4x4 version of the Dodge TC, and in 1940 this evolved into the Dodge WC and all its variants which were produced in great numbers throughout the war, 78,800 WC half-ton and 256,400 WC three-quarter ton. In 1946 the Dodge WC regained its civilian nose and continued in production until 1949.
