Edsel Ranger 1959
With only 63,000 Edsels sold in the first year, 1959 Edsels had to make cost savings; the first of these was to reduce the Edsel range to just the Ranger and Corsair lines. The Edsel Ranger now shared its body and chassis of the Ford Fairlane, stretched to 120-inch from the Fairlane 118-inch. It was also 3-inches longer and 3-inches wider. Bodies offered were 2-door sedan or hardtop, and 4-door sedan or hardtop. Engines were also reduced in size for driving economy, and there was a 6-cylinder option as well as the 292 and 361 V8s
