Launched at the 1953 Paris Salon, the Ferrari 250 Europa was built on the same chassis as the Ferrari 375 America, and powered by a 2,963cc V12 Lampredi engine. The Paris show car was bodied by Vignale, but most Europas carried coachwork by Carozzeria Pininfarina. In 1954 a new 250 Europa GT was exhibited on a shorter 2,600mm chassis and with the new 2,953cc Colombo V12. The 1954 Paris Salon car was bodied by Pininfarina, as were most of the 30 Europa GT cars, but Pininfarina did build some Speciale models as well. The Ferrari 250 GT Europa became the foundation of the 250 GT 'Tour de France'

Ferrari 250 GT 1955 Europa. The first 250 Europa had a Lampredi 2,963cc V12. For 1955 the Europa GT was given a new 220bhp Colombo 2,953cc V12 which was actually a detuned version of the Ferrari 250 MM engine.
