The Mark Two Granada was launched in September 1977, now equipped with the German Cologne V6 engines, from 2.3 to 2.8 and a 2.8 injection. The Granada was no longer built in the UK. Production was of 4-door saloons and 5-door estates with a 2-door car offered in continental Europe only; there wasn't a coupe version. Under the surface the MkII Granada was heavily based on the MkI version, and the Estate cars used identical rear sections. he Granada MkII was revised in October 1981 with new grille and rear lamps, and 5-speed gearboxes were introduced in October 1982. There was a run-out 'Ghia X' model sold from April 1984 until the new Granada MkIII was launched in May 1985.
