Ford Model C. Model CX
In Europe Ford replaced the Model A with its first car styled specifically for non-American markets, the Ford Model Y launched in 1932 with a 933cc sidevalve 8hp engine that continued in production until 1962. The Ford Model C was launched as a 10hp version of the Model Y in 1935 and was given an 1172cc version of the same sidevalve engine. Ford Germany sold it as the Ford Eifel. Two door (Tudor) and four door (Fordor) versions were available. In October 1935 the Model CX was launched as an evolution of the Model C to make it look less austere as a companion for the new Model 60 V8. Ford manufactured Model C and Model CX tourers as the Model C chassis was more rigid than the Model Y. In 1937 the Model CX was superceded by the Ford 7W 10hp designed in England.
