When the 105E Anglia was launched in 1959, the Ford 100E Anglia was re-introduced as the 100E Popular to sell underneath the new car, but it was stripped right down so that even the heater became an extra, although there was a Popular Deluxe which gave such niceties as standard.

Ford 100E Popular. Using the Anglia bodyshell, with larger rear window (from 1957), the Popular was so stripped down it was even given very basic rear lamps.
Ford 100E Popular 1959 DL. In 1959 the 100E Anglia was replaced by the distinctive 105E Anglia, and the entry model 100E was downgraded and re-launced as the 100E Popular - the third such 'Old anglia' to be given this treatment. It was given the same simple grille as the 100E Anglia from 1957.
Ford 103E Popular. The E494A Anglia ceased production in 1953 when the 100E Anglia was launched, but it was then re-introduced as the 103E Popular. In the form of a Popular it was even more basic than the outgoing Anglia, with only a single wiper and no heater.
Ford Popular 1960 100E. Once the new Ford Anglia 105E had been launched, the 100E Anglia was reconfigured as a cheaper car with the 1,172cc sidevalve engine and stripped down trim and sold as the 'Popular'

Ford 100E Popular 1959. With the launch of the new Anglia 105E in 1959, the existing 100E Anglia was stripped out to sell as the cheapest car on the market (the third time that Ford had achieved this) as the Ford Popular 100E. It used the 2-door Anglia body in basic form, but as in this case it could be upgraded to Deluxe.
