Ford Zephyr 6 (213E) In 1962 Ford transferred the 'Consul' name to the Classic, Cortina and the Corsair, and decided to call the new 4-cylinder car the 'Zephyr 4'. Underneath the mechanics and chassis of the Consul MkII continued, wrapped in bodywork by Roy Brown some of which was based on a styling exercise by Frua. The six cylinder 2553cc engine was given to the similarly styled 'Zephyr 6' which had a different split grille. In 1966 the MkIII Z-cars were replaced by the new MkIV models. |
