Healey Silverstone
The 'Healey Silverstone' was named after its debut circuit race. Based on a single seater racing car, but with two seats, mudguards, lights, etc the Healey Silverstone was a racing car for the road. A Riley 2443cc ohv engine powered the car, which was given a special narrow chassis. and a lightweight aluminium body. A Healey Silverstone was entered on the 1949 Alpine Rally winning its class and coming second overall. A team of three Healey Silverstone cars won the team prize at the 1949 International Trophy race, and the car took its name from this venue.

Healey Silverstone E-type. Donald Healey designed the Silverstone, although it is thought that he 'borrowed' aspects of the design from the pre-war Auto Union. The novel mounting of the spare wheel gave it a secondary role as a rear bumper.
