Hudson introduced its first straight eight 3.8-litre engine for 1930, and this was given to the Hudson Greater Eight. The engine was enlarged to 4,195cc for 1932, and in that year only Hudson Eights were sold. Bodies were all steel, which was a first for any USA manufacturer. A Hudson Six returned in 1933. For 1934 Hudson sold as three models of the Eight on a 116-inch chassis and 2 models on 123-inches. 1935 saw the return of a Six on a 116-inch chassis, two Eights on 117-inches and three Eights on 124-inches.
