Jaguar XK 120
Jaguar stunned the world at the London Motor Show 1948 with the XK 120. The beautiful body was complimented with a new 3442cc 6-cylinder dohc XK engine which promised a top speed of 120mph - fastest production car in the world. It was launched as a Roadster (or Open Two Seater 'OTS'), and in 1951 a Fixed Head Coupe was added to the range. In 1953 a drophead coupe was also available, this was more luxury than sporting and had wooden dashboard and comfortable fittings. From 1951 an SE model was available with extra power and equipment, and also an optional C-type head to give even more power. The XK120 was replaced by the XK140 in 1954 after sales of 12,000.
