Lancia Augusta
Debuting at the 1932 Paris Salon, the Lancia Augusta gave Lancia entry into the mass market. But the Augusta was no ordinary saloon, being a Lancia it had monocoque construction, independent front suspension, plus an overhead cam V4 engine of 1196cc. Sports versions were succesful on track events including a 1-2-3-4 finish at the 1936 Targa Florio. The Augusta was also built in France as the Lancia Belna. In 1937 the Lancia Ardea superseded the Augusta.
