Lancia Fulvia Coupe
Fulvia Flacca Bambula (c. 83 BC – 40 BC) married (for the third time) to the infamous Roman Tribune Marcus Antony. Lancia chose her name for its little car, the Lancia Fulvia which was launched as a Berlina at the Geneva Salon in 1963. In 1965 the Fulvia Coupe was launched, styled by Pietro Castagnero, who also styled the Berlina. The Coupe was launched with 1216cc engine, but was soon available with the 1298cc engine. In 1969 a 1584cc engine was given to the 1600HF model and could be tuned to 132bhp. In 1970 the Series II Coupe was launched with revised grille and lighting, and 1974 it was revised again as the Series III. Production ended in 1976. In 1964 Lancia commissioned Zagato to build a Sport Coupe version of the Fulvia. First shown in 1965 the design was by Ercole Spada under the direction of Elio Zagato.

The initials 'H.F.' were chosen for these cars, standing for 'High Fidelity' (nothing to do with loud music !). It is said that the red running elephant was adapted from the elephant used by Enrico Anselmi who had competed in Lancias for many years
