Morris Cowley 'Flatnose'
In 1915 the first Morris Cowley appeared as a cut-price Morris 'Bullnose' Oxford. For 1926, Oxford and Cowleys gained new chassis, but the Cowley was only given rear wheel brakes. Gone was the 'Bullnose' radiator, now replaced by the cheaper and more efficient 'Flatnose' radiator, behind which sat the same 1548cc sv 4-cylinder engine. Another chassis change was made for 1932 and revised bodies, and the 1548cc engine could be replaced by an 1803cc sv unit at no extra cost. In 1933 a brand new 1548cc engine was given to the Cowley and the name became 'Morris Twelve-Four' from 1935. There was a 'Cowley-Six' for 1934, but essentially this was the same 1938cc Morris Major, and for 1935 this became the 'Morris Fifteen-Six'.
