Morris Minor 1000 1962 - 1972
In 1962 the Minor 1000 (or Series III) was replaced by a 1098cc version (sometimes called 'Series V', since the 'Series IV' was given to what was launched as the 'Morris Mini Minor'). This was the final version of the Morris Minor, and its development was under code 'ADO 59'. Principal change was the fitting of a 1098cc version of the A-series engine. Combination lamp units were fitted at the front. The name 'Minor 1000' was retained. Convertible Minors ended production in 1969, and the saloons in 1970. Traveller and LCV versions continued to be produced into 1972. Over 1.6 million Morris Minors were sold. The Morris Marina replaced the Morris Minor in 1971.

The 'Minor 1000' had simple one-piece red rear lamps with dual filament bulbs which could flash as a turn signal or remain solid for a brake lamp or rear lamp, but during the 1960s the need for an orange rear lamp (and an orange front lamp) saw the Minor given these new lamps.

Morris Minor Traveller. -Traveller- was the Morris name for its Estate Cars or -Shooting Brakes-. This Minor had a true coachbuilt Ash and Aluminium -Hut- which was built and then bolted to the chassis and to the front car cab.
