Morris Oxford 'Bullnose'
In 1912 the first Morris Oxford appeared with its distinctive 'Bullnose' radiator. The Oxford was an assemblage of components from British companies, and in 1915 a cheaper Cowley was launched built with American components as these were cheaper. A White and Poppe 4-cylinder sidevalve engine of 1018cc powered the Oxford. From 1919, a new larger Oxford was available with 1548cc engine from the British Hotchkiss company, which became Morris Engines in 1923 after William Morris bought the company. The engine was enlarged to 1803cc in 1923. For 1926, Oxford and Cowleys gained new chassis, and the 'Bullnose' radiator, now replaced by the cheaper and more efficient 'Flatnose' radiator.
