'Fury' was given to the top trim Plymouth Belvedere from 1956 on the 2-door hardtop; gold anodized trim distinguised these hardtops from other Plymouths. In 1959 'Fury' became a model line on a 118-inch wheelbase to replace the Belvedere, and a new Sport Fury added still higher trim (without necessarily being sporty). A new body was given to 1960 and 1961 Chryslers and the Fury got its own 118-inch version. The new more compact B-body on 116-inches was sold as a Fury from 1962 to 64, but overall length was increased each year. Furies were given 119-inch C-bodies from 1965 to 1968 and even larger 'fueslage' 120-inch bodies from 1969 to 1973
