In 1937 Pontiac gave its cars the new Fisher B-body, with a 117-inch wheelbase for the Deluxe Six (Model 37-26 DA) and 122-inches for the Deluxe Eight (37-28 DA). Both models offered Coupe, Sport Coupe, Cabriolet, 2-door and 4-door sedan and Touring Sedan and Convertible Sedan. The Deluxe Six was also available as a Station Wagon. Both the 6-cylinder engine and the 8-cylinder engine were enlarged for 1937 to 3,654cc (223) and 4,080cc (249). For 1938 the bodies continued now with a new grille broken by the 9 verticle 'silver streaks' which continued over the bonnet and resumed on the rear deck on closed cars. ALL car makers suffered from a mini-Depression during in 1938 and Pontiac had the worst ever sales, so for 1939 a new lower-priced 6-cylinder model was introduced based on an A-body Chevrolet, and the larger Pontiacs got the new B-body.
