Reliant Robin
The Reliant Regal was finally pensioned off to be replaced by the Reliant Robin MkI in 1973. The Robin was designed by Ogle Design . A 750cc 32bhp engine based on the Austin Seven unit was given to the Reliant Robin. There was a hatchback saloon and a Van/Estate model with with side opening rear door. An 848cc 40bhp engine was given to the Robin in 1975. In 1981 the Robin was replaced by the Reliant Rialto. In 1989 a new Reliant Robin (MKII) took over from the Rialto, and in 1999 this was revised as the Robin (MkIII). Three wheeler production ended in February 2001 and 65 'Robin 65' models were developed as a special edition to commemorate 65 years of 3-wheeler production. Reliant had produced a 'Jubilee Robin' in 1977 for the Queen's Jubilee, and a 'Robin Diamond' in 1985. B&N Plastics took over and made a limited run of BN-1 and BN-2 cars until late 2002.
