Rolls-Royce Twenty The Rolls-Royce 40/50 or 'Silver Ghost' had been a one model policy for Rolls-Royce, until the smaller Twenty was introduced in 1922. A smaller 3127cc 6-cylinder engine was given to the Twenty, and it was intended for owner drivers. The engine gave 50bhp, which was more than the original 7-litre 40/50 engine did when launched in 1907. Many owners specified heavy coachbuilt bodies, so in 1929 the 20/25 was brought in as a more powerful replacement. 2885 Rolls-Royce Twenties were built |
