Singer Vogue Singer launched its new Minx as the 'Vogue' in 1961 marketed above the existing Minx Series III. The bigger and heavier Vogue had the 1592cc ohv engine from the 'Gazelle 1600' which cheapened in order to sell at a lower price. An estate car model joined the range in 1962. Later in that year front discs were given to the Vogue Series II which was otherwise engineered the same as the 'Audax' Minx. In 1963 Rootes modernised the Vogue models, with a new 6-light superstructure and taller windscreen. At the 1965 Motor Show the Vogue was given the 1725cc engine newly developed and named the Series IV. Vogue saloons were sold until 1966 and estates until 1967, all models being replaced by the Singer Gazelle/ Vogue models from the Arrows range. |
