The Oceane and Plein Ciel were launched at the 1956 Paris Salon, the Oceane being the cabriolet and the Plein Ciel (meaning open air). Mechanically these cars were very similar to the outgoing Simca 9 Sport and the current Simca 90A Aronde. These cars used the 1,290cc 57bhp 'Flash' engine until 1961 when the 62bhp 'Rush' engine was given. The bodies were all new and provided by Facel-Metallon for Simca. Initially they were styled like a small Ford Thunderbird, but in 1958 a restyle was given to reflect the launch of the P60 Aronde. The Oceane and Plein Ciel cost double the price of an Aronde and production ended in 1962 after 11,540 were sold.
